Let’s take a deeper dive into Master YouTube and see if it’s the right fit for you.

What is Slow Growth Academy?

Slow Growth Academy is an online school started by Matt D’Avella to help creators develop themselves.

In short, it’s where Matt D’Avella publishes the courses he makes.

Currently, he has a course on making Simple Habits and a Master YouTube course. I have only taken the Master YouTube course so that will be the focus of this review.

Matt D’Avella’s Courses Are a Scam & Money-Grab?

So I’ve read through some reviews of Matt’s Simple Habits course and have seen on Reddit and other similar places that the quality of his courses is low on Slow Growth.

As I said above, I haven’t taken Simple Habits so I can’t speak on that.

But, I’m very impressed with his Master YouTube course and believe it’s an amazing course for the right person.

So… are his courses a scam or a money grab?

His Master YouTube course is definitely not – it’s great.

Here are the benefits you can expect with Master YouTube:

Go full time on YouTube
Gain the correct mindset to succeed on YouTube
Build a solid foundation for your YouTube channel
Learn how to come up with ideas
Develop a time-saving workflow for making YouTube content
Learn from a structured, all-in-one course system

Content Covered in the Master YouTube Course

Matt covers a lot of ground in his Master YouTube course.

Here are the main modules you’ll gain access to when you purchase the course:

  1. Introduction
  2. Get Clear on Your Vision
  3. Build Your Foundation
  4. Develop Unique Ideas For Your Channel
  5. Learn to Make Better Videos (Faster)
  6. Grow Your Audience from 0 Subs to Your First 1,000 Fans and Beyond
  7. Final Words

Some of my favorite videos from these modules include:

  • Develop your content strategy
  • Essential gear
  • My checklist for making videos
  • Everything you need to know about filming yourself

Matt D’Avella’s Course Content Style

Matt D’Avella is the instructor for this course and he’s delightfully himself in this engaging course.

If you have seen his YouTube videos, you’ll know what I mean.

He’s witty, a clear communicator, a strong filmmaker, and, most importantly, he has biceps.

More on his biceps in a second.

The first few modules are focused on getting clear on your YouTube vision and setting up the technical parts of your channel. You’ll hear from Matt directly as he walks you through the step-by-step process of getting clear on your vision and setting up the different aspects of your channel.

In the later modules, you’ll see how Matt develops ideas, shoots, edits, and publishes YouTube content.

For these sections, he has created a new channel – Biceps by Matt – to serve as a real-life example to follow.

The best part of the course content style Matt went with is you get to see every single step Matt takes to make a video.

  • How does he come up with ideas?
  • How do I structure an effective YouTube video?
  • What’s the best way to make a thumbnail?
  • How can I edit videos quickly?

If you are a fan of Matt’s content and want to learn from Matt, you’ll love the content and structure.

Master YouTube Has Amazing Downloadable Resources

The process documents and downloads you get from Master YouTube are incredible.

What do you get exactly?

  • Master YouTube workbook – a compilation of all the exercises and key principles of his teachings
  • Production Checklist – a step-by-step checklist to go from idea to final video
  • Video Idea Checklist – a quick gut-check list to see if you should even make the video you are thinking of making
  • Master YouTube One Pager – all the ideas from the course in one document

The Master YouTube One Pager is so good, in fact, that I framed it and have it hanging up in my room.

As an added bonus, it’s always nice to get to see what gear each creator uses to make their videos. You’ll gain access to the list of the exact gear Matt uses to execute his videos as well as his software recommendations.

Matt D’Avella VS Erika Kullberg VS Sean Cannell

There are three big players in the YouTube course space.

So, which one should you buy?

My favorite YouTube course, even after taking Matt’s, is Erika Kullberg’s course.

Why?

  • You learn the process to make videos that will organically rank on YouTube.
  • You receive blueprints on the exact videos you need to make during your YouTube start.
  • You implement monetization strategies early on so you can go full-time faster.

I love Matt’s course. And, as a filmmaker, it’s an invaluable course to learn how Matt films and makes YouTube content.

If you want to learn how to create YouTube videos as Matt does, then buy Matt’s course.

If you want to go full-time as a YouTuber, buy Erika’s.

Conclusion

Rating: 5 out of 5.

For those wanting to learn how to film YouTube videos as Matt does, you have come to the right course.

Act quick, though! The doors open and close at random intervals so if you want to enroll and the doors are open, you’d best enroll!

And, with their 30-day money-back guarantee, you can always give it a try and, if it’s not a good fit, ask for a refund.
